We’ve been involved in application development and programming for 20+ years. Several members of our team have worked for large tech firms or in the IT department for large conglomerates custom coding or project managing technology projects. Our more recent projects in application development have become more web-based or mobile app oriented. This is mostly due to adding custom functionality to websites and cloud-based services firms or bringing to life a business concept for mobile users or needing a mobile application to interact with digital signage and experiential media walls.

When adding custom functionality to a website, having a defined problem that the new functionality solves and how a user benefits by having this added capability helps guide our development since it could be met in various ways that may not be considered yet or at times, can be ‘best’ done without custom coding since existing tools already exist or at least reduce the development time needed. At times, only estimates on time and cost are needed for budgeting and fundraising purposes or we’re asked to present a phased approach to an application programming project since funds are limited for the launch phase.

In regards to the development process, the more input provided accelerates and energizes the project. Therefore, for us to proceed with any development project, we need each client to be invested not just financially, but time invested as well, carving out resources and time to keep the project moving forward. Failing to do so drags out development projects needlessly. With hat in mind, having a project timeline, defined resources from both parties and checkpoints will minimize this scenario.
